What it actually is

A pack of four Murphy 6W COB LED surface-mounted spotlights in black aluminium, warm white, with adjustable heads so you can aim each one. Surface-mounted means they sit on the wall or ceiling rather than needing a recessed cut-out. Two-year warranty.

Who it's for

Anyone lighting artwork, a feature wall, a shelf of objects or a reading corner. Warm white at 6W is accent lighting, not room lighting, and aiming is the whole point — these exist to put a pool of light somewhere specific.

The honest downside

These need wiring. Surface-mounted is easier than recessed, but there is still no plug — you are connecting to mains, which means an electrician unless you genuinely know what you are doing. Four 6W lights will not light a room on their own, and warm white is a fixed choice; there is no switching to cool white later.

Check these before you buy

• That you have or can run a wired connection at that spot
• Beam angle, which decides between a tight spot and a soft wash
• Warm versus cool white — this is not adjustable after purchase
• Driver type, since built-in drivers are simpler but harder to replace

Verdict

Good value for real fixtures. Budget for an electrician and it is a genuine upgrade.
